Ardis Furnace
The Ardis Furnace is an abandoned experimental blast furnace located in our own backyard behind Recreation Lanes. The Ardis Furnace is designated as a Michigan State Historic Site and has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places. The experimental blast furnace was designed and built by John T. Jones in 1908 and named “The Ardis Furnace” after his daughter.

Cornish Pump Museum
Features the largest steam-driven pumping engine ever built in the United States. Listed as both a National Historic Site and a Michigan Historic Site. The museum also features historic photographs and artifacts, as well as extensive displays of underground mining equipment.

World War ll Glider and Military Museum
Features one of only seven fully-restored CG-4A gliders in the world, as well as extensive military displays. During World War II, the Ford Motor Company's plant in Kingsford built more Model CG-4A gliders for the United States Army than any other company in the nation.

Menominee Range Historical Museum
Housed in the former Carnegie Public Library, the museum features more than 100 exhibits depicting local history from Native American inhabitants through the early years of the 20th century with chronological displays and re-created period rooms.

Millie Mine Bat Viewing Site
A hibernating and breeding location for up to 50,000 bats, one of the largest known concentrations of bats in the Midwest. Bats start arriving at the mine in late August and early September. They remain in the mine shaft throughout the winter and begin emerging in late April and May. The best time to view bats is right at dusk, as the bats begin to emerge from the mine. They feed throughout the night and return an hour to half hour before daylight.

Fumee Lake Preserve
Established in 1992, the Fumee Lake Natural Area has over 1800 acres used in a wide variety of non-motorized activities. Home to a number of rare or threatened species including the Bald Eagle, Common Loon and 17 species of orchids. 3 plants on Michigan's Threatened Species list are found here: Walking Fern, Purple Cliff-brake and Marsh Grass of Parnassus.

An artisan well The Oliver Mining Company struck water here while drilling for iron ore in 1903 and subsequently the Norway Spring Artisan Well was created. Open to the public.
